Why do I need a Gas Bottle Trolley?

Gas bottle and gas cylinder handling can lead to a range of hazards and accidents, including musculoskeletal issues, human harm, dropped cylinder, leaks and other handling hazards.



Not only do gas bottles and gas cylinders pose a physical hazard due to manual handling, these dangerous goods have chemical and physical properties that can cause hazards if the cylinder isn’t transported safely.

What happens if you drop a gas cylinder?

Handling mishaps with gas cylinders can lead to a range of safety issues. However, this depends on the type of impact the cylinder suffers (how hard it may be hit, what damage occurs), the location in which it’s dropped (is it near an ignition source, incompatible substances), as well as the division of gas that’s held within the cylinder (each division has its own hazards).



Generally speaking, dropping a gas cylinder is dangerous and can cause damage to the valve or regulator and damage to the cylinder itself. This could lead to an uncontrolled release of harmful or flammable gas, the cylinder to become airborne and create a projectile risk. The escaped gas may also result in fire or explosion.
