Why do lithium batteries require a transport unit?

The risk of fire due to impact damage, heat, humidity, water or other means must be controlled when transporting lithium-ion batteries. A Storemasta Battery Transport Unit offers the necessary controls to reduce fire risk when on the road.

What is the ADG Code?

The Australian Dangerous Goods Code (otherwise known as the ADG Code) lists lithium-ion batteries as Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods that pose a risk during transport. Optimum transport conditions and clear signage are required to transport these goods safely.

What features does a Battery Transport Unit have?

Features of the Storemasta Battery Transport Unit include 15mm cement sheet lining within a sheet steel construction, fitted with an intumescent lid seal and fork pockets for easy lifting. A non-monitored fire suppression system is installed in these systems to suppress a fire if it does occur, offering further protection for people and property.
